The Immediate past Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency Peter Obi today visited Holy Family Schools and St. Patrick School in Sokoto State.
The august visitor who was introduced to the schools by Rev Sr. Esther said he is happy to celebrate World Freedom Day with the Children in Sokoto.
Mr Obi said "We have a problem with education. I have always believed that the problem of Nigeria is education that's why i am committed to education."
He encouraged the church to embrace education and health more.
His visit coincides with the Plenary for Diocesan/Religious Communication Directors currently hosted in Sokoto by the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto.
During his interaction with the diocesan/religious communicators, Mr. Obi said "whatever is in life is in communication. communication brings changes and communication is very critical in a knowledge based economy".
"Nigeria Operates a baggage economy, every other country is changing." He added that Nigeria needs to embrace knowledge economy because there won't be corruption.
He decried that the most critical problem of Nigeria is that those who should be in government are not there. Let's stop celebrating criminality and rascality in our system.
"We have no country except Nigeria and we must stop the abuse" Mr Obi said.
Bishop Kukah in his remark commended Mr. Peter Obi on his contribution to education in the nation especially for visiting the schools in Sokoto State and supporting the schools.
