Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Gusau

Gusau was the only missionary residence in the 45,943 square miles of the new Prefecture when Monsignor Edward Lawton, O.P., arrived on 13 November 1954. Through his efforts the out-station became a parish in 1955. Bishop Lawton was buried in the cemetery beside the church in December 1966.
