148 Received the Sacrament of Confirmation

One hundred and forty eight Catholic faithful from three parishes, received the Sacrament of Confirmation today at the Holy Family Cathedral, Sokoto.
The Sacrament was administered by the Bishop of the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto, Most Reverend Dr. Matthew Hassan Kukah during the Mass of Pentecost.

The candidates, 84 females and 64 males were from the Holy Family Cathedral, Sokoto, St. Kevin's Parish, Sokoto and St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Illela border town.

In a homily, Most Reverend Matthew Hassan Kukah said the Catholic Church was the only existing church from Pentecost until Fr. Martin Luther's rebellion that paved way for protestantism.

The Bishop said there are churches and there are churches; there are spirits and there are spirits; and warned people against going from place to place as they must first discern the spirit with which many groups are operating.

Bishop Kukah said Nigeria is in a state of confusion without direction as to where we are going or where we're coming from.

However he said God is capable of saving His people and solving our challenges. All we should be doing as Christians is to trust God and believe His ability to solve our challenges.
