The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto, Most Reverend Matthew Hassan Kukah says St. Joseph is a perfect example of how to accept responsibility from God with courage. His humility according to the Bishop was that he operated quietly in the background with total commitment even without any passage credited to him as his utterance in the Bible. He further said when God gives His creature assignment, He also gives the person confidence as He did through Angel Gabriel to the Blessed Virgin Mary. On giving Mary the message, the Archangel Gabriel told her: "Do not be afraid". Bishop Kukah added that most times the perception people have at the onset of vocations such as priesthood, marriage and others changes with time when the reality of life dawns on us and we have to live and cope with that reality. Most Reverend Matthew Hassan Kukah was speaking today in a homily at the Mass of the Solemnity of the Annunciation at the Chapel of the Bakhita Secretariat Sokoto.
