Three young men were today ordained Deacons for Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Northwest Nigeria.
They are Reverends
Ahmodu Reuben Ojochenemi,
Chieve Michael Solomon
and Salifu Pascal Ojoduwene.

In a homily, the ordaining prelate Most Reverend Matthew Hassan Kukah, Catholic Bishop of Sokoto thanked God for His favours to the Diocese for the three Deacons and five priests ordained in the same year 2021.
The Bishop commended the faithful of Sokoto for their cooperation and support to the Church. He urged them to assist the Deacons to do their work and not be a source of discouragement to them.
The Bishop was assisted at the Mass by many priests, including Fr. Prof. Mamman, a lecturer at the Ahmadu Bello University and Fr. Maiyaki, a priest of Sokoto Diocese working in the Diocese of Maradi, Niger republic.
There were many religious of the Dominican, Daughters of Divine Love and Eucharistic Heart Sisters.
Some female religious serving in Niger republic also came to witness the Diaconate ordination.
The mothers of the Deacons were each given a set of books on the prayers of the Church to present to their ordained children with counsel on the way forward.
