The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Most Revd (Dr) Matthew Hassan Kukah, has mourned the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, saying that the former President was a good man.
The former Secretary General of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, in a telephone interview with Daily Sun, urged Nigerians not to allow Buhari’s eight-year rule to overshadow his good nature.
He prayed God to grant former President Buhari eternal rest and give consolation to his family.
Kukah said: “May God grant him eternal rest and may He give consolation to his family, extend our sympathy, but all of us as a nation are mourning.
“I think President Buhari should be remembered as a good man. We shouldn’t focus on his eight years of being President of Nigeria, but as a great man who made his contributions to this country as a military officer among many other things.
