Bishop Kukah Cautions On Voices In Our Heads

"The voice of the Devil is many times easily mistaken for the voice of God.

It is the gift of the Holy Spirit that helps us to discern and know if the voice we hear is the voice of God and  answer God's call.

The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Most Reverend Matthew Hassan Kukah urged the caution in a homily at Mass on Sunday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish Old Airport, Sokoto.

He said every time God sends us, he makes available what is needed for the task.

The preaching of the Gospel he further said,  cannot end because the wickedness in the world is continuing and the Holy Spirit gives us the assurance that the grace of God is with us.

The Bishop said God is faithful adding that His faithfulness does not depend on our faithfulness as His faithfulness never ends.

He further explained that God's faithfulness is not a reward for what we do.

He said "We are rebels but despite our reluctance to do the will of God, the sacrament of confirmation is evidence that the gospel of our Lord continues. We must seek the face of God and may he show himself to us."
