Bishop Kukah Cautions On Voices In Our Heads

"The voice of the Devil is many times easily mistaken for the voice of God.

 It is the gift of the Holy Spirit that helps us to discern and know if the voice we hear is the voice of God and  answer God's call.

The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Most Reverend Matthew Hassan Kukah urged the caution in a homily at Mass on Sunday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish Old Airport, Sokoto.

He said every time God sends us, he makes available what is needed for the task. 

A young lady in her twenties,Miss Judith Mary Salaudeen is set to be blessed with the reception of Five Sacraments  of the Church in less than one month in Sokoto Diocese. Judith was baptized on Friday as an adult and received the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist the same day.

Two days later on Sunday to be precise, she received the Sacrament of confirmation at the hands of the Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Most Reverend Matthew Hassan Kukah at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Old Airport Sokoto.

The Catholic Bishop of Nigeria’s Sokoto Diocese is spearheading negotiations to secure the safe release of the elderly Nigerian Priest kidnapped last week when gunmen attacked St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church Malunfashi in Katsina State within his episcopal see.

One hundred and forty eight Catholic faithful from three parishes, received the Sacrament of Confirmation today at the Holy Family Cathedral, Sokoto.
The Sacrament was administered by the Bishop of the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto, Most Reverend Dr. Matthew Hassan Kukah during the Mass of Pentecost.

The candidates, 84 females and 64 males were from the Holy Family Cathedral, Sokoto, St. Kevin's Parish, Sokoto and St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Illela border town.

The Director of Social Communication and members of the Diocesan chapter of the Catholic Media Practitioners of Nigeria, CAMPAN, went on outreach to the different Parishes to spread the message on the importance of Communication in the work of evangelization.

The Catholic Diocese of Sokoto on Thursday, April 29, announced the passing unto glory of Sr. Edith Abebe, EHJ, who died after a brief illness.

The Director of Communications, Sokoto Diocese, Rev. Fr. Chris Omotosho announced the death.
