Bishop Kukah Ordains three (3) Priests, Dedicates the Holy Family Cathedral

The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese His Lordship Most Rev Dr. Matthew Hassan Kukah ordained three priests: Rev Fr. Mokwe Joseph Nnamdi, Rev Fr, Ajibo Festus Okechukwu and Rev Fr. Omotosho Christopher Adewale at the Holy Family Cathedral Ahmadu Bello way, Sokoto state on 8th December, 2017.

Bishop Kukah during his homily focused on these three key issues:

  • Wonderful gift of the priesthood
  • The urgent need for Christians to draw inspiration from our faith
  • Our mission is to purify our society by prayer and witnessing

He explained that the ordinands have gone through rigorous seminary formation, their characters have been investigated and were not found wanting and there were no objections.

And that is why today, they are being ordained priests of the holy church.

He equally charged the newly ordained priests that a priest must remain prayerfully calm by constantly trying to answer the question why me?

The business and responsibility of a priest are: to live in the midst of the world without wishing its pleasure, they are a member of this family yet belonging to God. To heal all wounds, to teach, to console and to bless etc.

He thanked God for the new look of the church and dedicated it in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and also to the blessed Mother Mary.
