We Will Protest Any Day Bishop Kukah Is Transferred From Sokoto Says Tambuwal

Sokoto State governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal said  that both himself and the President General, Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, (NSCIA) Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar 111 will protest any day Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah is transferred from the Seat of the Caliphate.

Tambuwal. Who premised his position on the immense contributions of the Bishop to state, national and global harmonious peaceful coexistence, added that, they hold Bishop Kukah in high esteem.

Speaking when the Forum of Directors of Social Communication of the Catholic Church paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House in Sokoto, Tambuwal further thanked Nigerians for their prayers for President Muhammadu Buhari.

“The nation will remain grateful for the fervent prayers you have embarked upon while the President was away receiving medical attention. Along with our Muslim brothers, we all prayed and it is gratifying to note that our prayers have been answered. We should not relent on that,”

While urging Nigerians, both Christians and Muslims not to relent in their prayers for the total healing of PMB, Tambuwal added that, Sokoto's airport and all borders will be closed any day Bishop Kukah is transfered from the state.

"Bishop Kukah is our brother and friend. We hold the Bishop in high esteem not only in Sokoto, north and Nigeria but globally for his contributions to harmonious coexistence.

“We believe the whole country can learn from our rich history of tolerance and moderation. I’m happy you have chosen Sokoto for your meeting. From what you have seen yourselves, you can take the positive message of peace to your dioceses and your homes,” Tambuwal noted.

The governor divulged that the Bishop has been helping his administration in attracting people who are ready to partner with the state, further appealed that, Bishop Kukah should be domesticated in Sokoto.

"Sokoto's airport, all borders will be closed any day Bishop Kukah is transferred from the state. We will protest any day Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah is transferred from Sokofo-myself and the Sultan" added the governor.

Earlier, the Bishop of Sokoto Catholic Dioceses, Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah who led Diocesan/Religious Directors of Communication on the visit said, almost everybody in Nigeria knows Tambuwal as Speaker, hence the believe that, Tambuwal is a Speaker of the universe.

Speaking on his part, the President of the Diocesan/Religious Directors of Communications, Father Pius Ukoh, said they were in Sokoto for their bi-annual plenary and thank the stats for their receptiveness.

According to him, they were surprise at the extent of development they saw in Sokoto, adding that the north is hospitable.

"If you are not in the northern states, you get a very wired story but when you come, you will be very sorry and surprise that the north is hospitable".
