”Make Christ your universal king”- Bishop Kukah

The Bishop, Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Most. Revd. (Dr.) Matthew Kukah has urged Nigerians at all levels to allow God be the universal king of their lives.

The revered cleric stated this during the celebration of Christ the King on Sunday at the Holy Family Catholic Cathedral, Sokoto. Kukah who attributed the numerous challenges facing today’s Christians stressed, “Irrespective of your diverse background or religious affiliations within Nigeria as a larger society, we should make Christ the king of our lives.

“The feast of Christ the King was initiated by Pope Pius in 1925 owing to the secularism of the then world and the need to draw people’s hearts and minds to their maker.” According to the sacred tradition of the Roman Catholic Church, the celebration of the feast brings to an end, the Ordinary time in liturgical year and heralds the beginning of Advent.
