Pope Francis names 17 new cardinals chosen from five Continents
Pope Francis named 17 new cardinals at the end of his Angelus address today, chosen from Asia, Africa, North and South America, Europe and Oceania.. The consistory for the creation of 17 new Cardinals is slated on Nov. 19, the eve of the closing of the Jubilee Year of Mercy.
