DEJI OF AKURE MEET WITH BISHOP KUKAH @SOKOTO

The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Most Rev Dr. Matthew Hassan Kukah welcomed the Deji of Akure Kingdom Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II at his residence in Sokoto. Accompanied by members of his kingdom the Deji expressed his appreciation to the Bishop for honoring the invitation to last year’s Festival, buttressing the fact that it was necessary for him to visit his Lordship since he was in town just to return the favor. He also prayed for the sons and daughters of Yoruba community present to welcome him.

The Bishop said that he was honored to host the Oba on his visit to Sokoto “I thought I could be honored to have much more of your time to stage a small event befitting of your visit but notwithstanding, I want to tell you how deeply appreciative we are of you and this visit will go down as a significant visit in the history of the our diocese”. He went further to narrate exist a cordial relationship between him and the good people of Ondo State.

This is part of the activities outlined by the Oba who earlier in the day paid a visit to the Sultan of Sokoto. He is expected to meet with other prominent religious and political leaders before his departure.
